Seafood is making a comeback in time for Lent and for spring. Here's a glimpse at new menu items this week:
Del Taco announced the return of Crispy Shrimp to its menu. The shrimp is featured in Del Taco’s new Epic Crispy Shrimp Burrito, as well as original Crispy Shrimp Tacos. These limited time items will be offered alongside Del Taco’s original Beer Battered Fish Tacos and new Guacamole Fish Tacos, all made-to-order.
New items on the menu include:
Burger King restaurants introduced its new Spicy Big Fish Sandwich, 100 percent White Alaskan Pollock breaded with crispy panko and topped with a cream-based spicy sauce and pickles on a toasted brioche bun.
The sandwich retails for $3.69 and is also part of the 2 for $5 promotion which allows guests the power to choose two sandwiches, the company said.
Wendy'sNorth Pacific Cod sandwich has returned to the menu for a limited time only and features new creamy dill tartar sauce made with pickle relish, and is topped lettuce and dill pickles served on a toasted bun. The sandwich consists of wild-caught North Pacific cod fillet hand-cut and lightly breaded in crispy panko crumbs.
Quiznos has added its limited-time lobster offerings to its menu, offered in its Lobster & Seafood Salad and Sub and Lobster Mac & Cheese.
The company also introduced its Lobster & Seafood Salad Ciabatta featuring lobster salad served on Quiznos newest artisan bread option, toasted Ciabatta.
Other menu additions this week:
Kentucky Fried Chicken is bringing back a popular retired item, its popcorn chicken nuggets.
The previous item on the menu was called popcorn chicken, but was discontinued in 2011. The new item is a take on chicken nuggets with 100 percent white meat, the company said.
Dunkin' Donuts announced that the Croissant Donut has been added as a permanent addition to the brand's bakery lineup. The Croissant Donut is a flaky croissant ring glazed like a donut and was introduced in November as a limited-time only menu item.
Dunkin' Donuts plans to expand the Croissant Donut platform throughout 2015, offering guests new flavor options, the company said. March is set to bring a Boston Kreme Croissant Donut filled with Bavarian Kreme and drizzled with chocolate icing available at participating Dunkin' Donuts restaurants throughout Monmouth and Ocean County, New Jersey.
Sonic Drive-In is bringing back 25 shake flavors for the third year in a row. The Shake Nation celebration starts this month and extends through the summer, according to a company press release. Sonic Real Ice Cream Shakes are half-price after 8 p.m.
