St. Patrick's Day translates into a huge marketing opportunity for restaurant operators. Check out how several brands are enticing customers to "wear the green."

Penn State East Coast Subs celebrates St. Patrick's Day with Reuben sandwich

Penn Station East Coast Subs is celebrating St. Patrick's Day with its Reuben sandwich, featuring slow-roasted corned beef, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese and optional Thousand Island dressing, according to a company press release.

This year, the Reuben will be available at the monthly special price on March 17 at all restaurants. Customers will be able to get a six-inch Reuben sandwich, fresh-cut fries and a drink for approximately $7.99 (prices vary by location).

"With our slow-roasted corned beef and fresh sauerkraut, our Reuben sandwich is a perfect way to honor the Irish and celebrate St. Patrick's Day," said Craig Dunaway, president of Penn Station East Coast Subs. "We thought it would be fun to give customers a holiday deal on the sandwich this year, which is why we're offering it at the monthly special price on St. Patrick's Day only."

Cousins Subs serves up St. Patty's-inspired LTO subs

Cousins Subs is bringing back St. Patrick's Day-inspired limited-time-only sub sandwiches — the Reuben and Rachel, according to a company press release.

The Reuben is served on rye bread with corned beef, sauerkraut and Thousand Island dressing. Also served on rye bread, the Rachel is layered with pastrami, coleslaw and Thousand Island dressing. Both subs feature Swiss cheese made in Wisconsin.

"Our Reuben and Rachel limited-time-only subs are a taste of tradition," said Justin McCoy, vice president of marketing at Cousins Subs. "They offer our guests a delicious way to enjoy St. Patrick's Day — with each bite their taste buds will be in luck."

The Rachel and Reuben sub sandwiches are available at Cousins Subs restaurants until March 20 and can be ordered online via Cousins' website or new mobile app, the release stated.

Bruegger's Bagels go green for St. Patrick's Day

Bruegger's Bagels will celebrate St. Patrick's Day by baking up green bagels Wednesday and Thursday. The St. Patrick's Day tradition began in 1997 at a Pittsburgh Bruegger's Bagels location, according to a company press release.

The shamrock-green bagels are made in the traditional way, first kettle-boiled, and then baked in small batches throughout the day to ensure freshness. Guests can enjoy them with any of Bruegger's Bagels' cream cheese flavors, or as a base for breakfast or lunch sandwiches.

"Freshly baked green bagels add a festive touch to a weekday St. Patrick's celebration at work, school or home," said Judy Kadylak, vice president of marketing for Bruegger's Bagels. "We hope our guests will come in and enjoy this once-a-year tradition with us while it lasts."

As part of the celebration, Bruegger's Bagels customers can get $2 off a Big Bagel Bundle, which includes 13 bagels of any variety and two tubs of cream cheese, by downloading a coupon from Brueggers.com. The coupon can be redeemed Wednesday and Thursday at participating U.S. locations. Guests ordering a dozen or more green bagels are encouraged to pre-order.

Guests can 'Win Some Green' At Dunkin' Donuts

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day and its new Pistachio-flavored coffee inspired by Baskin-Robbins ice cream, Dunkin' Donuts is providing people an opportunity to win money from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET through its "Win Some Green" promotion, surprising a total of five guests throughout the country with a $1,000 check awarded at the counter of their local Dunkin' Donuts restaurant, according to a company press release.

There is no purchase necessary and the program is open to legal U.S. residents residing in the 50 United States and the District of Columbia, who are eighteen 18 years of age or older.

Boudin's Bakery honors Irish tradition with fresh-baked Irish Soda Bread

During the mid-1800s, soda bread was often the only food on the tables of families in Ireland. Today, many continue to honor this age-old tradition by serving the ritualistic Irish Soda Bread as a reminder of how fortunate they are. For a limited time, Boudin is honoring this tradition with its fresh-baked Irish Soda Bread available through April 3, according to a company press release.

Boudin's Irish Soda Bread is made using a traditional baking soda leavened recipe and is laced with raisins. Whether you choose to pair it with a glass of Irish whiskey, a pint of beer or a cup of tea, serve Boudin's Irish Soda Bread with rich, European-style butter, Dubliner cheese and preserves, and you'll know why the Irish feel so lucky, the release stated.

Boudin's Irish Soda Bread is $6.29 per loaf and is available at all nine Boudin SF locations in Southern California.
