For an election day that sucks our souls, Krispy Kreme's freebie is full of holes

November 1, 2016 by S.A. Whitehead — Food Editor, Net World Media Group

It may be the only sweet thing to come out of next Tuesday’s election day: Krispy Kreme is giving anyone with one of those "I Voted Today” stickers a free doughnut of their choice that day at any of the brand’s U.S. shops.

"We want to sweeten Election Day by saying 'thank you' to those who participate at the polls," said Krispy Kreme Chief Marketing Officer Jackie Woodward, in a news release. "It has been a long election season, and we think a free treat is the perfect way to reward voters."

Of course, they’d also like to get a little mileage out of their investment, so the brand is urging all takers to post a pix or a thoughtful message (note the word, "thoughtful" there) about their free doughnut acquisition on social media under the hashtag, #KrispyKreme.
