13 of most-crazed 'Cravers' inducted into White Castle Hall of Fame

White Castle has inducted 13 people into its Cravers Hall of Fame, chosen from more than 250 people who entered for the offbeat honor, a news release said. 

The 19-year-old exclusive, honorary club recognizes the brand's most passionate fans, dubbed "Cravers." Each year, hundreds submit their stories of slider-passion to be chosen for the Cravers Hall of Fame. 

"Year after year, we're so so impressed with and humbled by the entries we receive for the Cravers Hall of Fame," Jamie Richardson, vice president at White Castle, said in the press release. "White Castle has been such an important and memorable part of so many people's lives. We love to hear their creative and touching stories about visiting our restaurants and what those visits meant to them."

This year's prestigious group was chosen based on brand loyalty, creative presentation, originality and "magnitude of the crave." In 2002, White Castle added the "Craver in Extremis" category to recognize public figures, celebrities and pop icons, including Alice Cooper, Telfar Clemens, Kal Penn and John Cho, and the late Stan Lee, who all publicly expressed their love for the Columbus, Ohio-based brand. 

Thus far, a total of 228 inductees have been honored with places in the hall. This year's group includes: 

• Retired Navy Capt. Daniel Whalen, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
• Twin brothers, Mark Foster of Atlanta and Todd Foster of Nashville, Tennessee.
• Purdue All-American Marching Band member Zach Townsend of Lafayette, Indiana.
• Former brain surgery patient Kayla Gray of Phoenix, Arizona.
• White Castle "road-tripper" Micah Bahnfleth of Omaha, Nebraska.
• White Castle devotee Gary Cowan of Rockville, Indiana.
• White Castle photo contest winners Dayton Porter and Sean Nguyen of Sterling Heights, Michigan.
• Frozen White Castle connoisseur Anna Williams of Ward Cove, Alaska.
• Craver deejay Ben Campbell of Scottsdale, Arizona.
• Scottsdale Castle Royalty Jamie West and Drew Schmitt of Scottsdale, Arizona.
