500+ unit QSR franchisee names president

One of the largest franchisees of Burger King, Popeyes and Pizza Hut, GPS Hospitality, has promoted its COO to president, overseeing company development, restaurant operations, marketing and training, a news release said. 

Michael Lippert was an executive at Captain D's, Arby's, Pilot/Flying J Travel Centers and RTM Restaurant Group before joining GPS in 2016 as COO. 

"Michael's strength of character, drive and work ethic has made him a valuable partner and an impactful leader," Tom Garrett, CEO of GPS Hospitality, said in the release. "I've worked with Michael for more than 20 years and admire his ability to not only see the big picture, but also manage the details. Michael has made a tremendous impact since he joined the team, and I look forward to what he'll contribute to GPS moving forward." 

Lippert said as COO he helped the company more than double its restaurants to 500 and add a third brand. He said he looks forward to helping the company work toward $1 billion in revenue. 

GPS Hospitality was the 2018 Burger King Global Franchisee of the Year with restaurants in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and West Virginia.
