American Express POS rates lowered to less than 2%

Harbortouch, a POS system and merchant services provider, is offering special pricing on American Express transactions at a rate of 1.99 percent for merchants accepting American Express cards on Harbortouch POS systems, according to a company press release.

Harbortouch, a POS system and merchant services provider, is offering special pricing on American Express transactions at a rate of 1.99 percent for merchants accepting American Express cards on Harbortouch POS systems, according to a company press release.

Typically American Express rates are in the 3.5-percent range, the company said. The new rate will allow businesses processing, for example, $20,000 per month in American Express charge volume to save more than $300 per month comparably.

The new price includes Harbortouch's free touchscreen POS system for restaurants and retail businesses.

Harbortouch CEO Jared Isaacman said in the announcement, "This unparalleled offer combines free state-of-the-art POS equipment with the industry's lowest American Express rates to deliver an unmatched value for our business customers."
