And a Whataburger in a pear tree

November 22, 2010

The Whataburger Serves initiative is bringing the “12 Days of Whataburger” to restaurants this holiday season. The Internet coupon campaign offers customers the chance to receive up to 12 free food items throughout December.

Coupons include free items such as fries, drinks, fried pies and breakfast taquitos. Customers can sign up for the coupons on the company’s website. After signing up, they’ll receive a different coupon every other day beginning Dec. 1, and ending with a grand finale coupon for a free Whataburger on Dec. 23.

Each coupon is valid for one day only and for dine-in business.

“The holidays are a time of giving and we are happy to spread the cheer and acknowledge our loyal customers," said Preston Atkinson, Whataburger Restaurants, LP President and COO. “This is our way of thanking them with free food throughout the month and encouraging the spirit of serving across the company."

The Whataburger Serves initiative is the company’s service-oriented arm intended to build customer appreciation, community involvement and employee morale. Besides the 12 Days of Whataburger that was also held last year, the initiative has also included activities such as Jalapeno Week and company-wide Christmas toy drives.
