Why is Wienerschitzel's CEO wearing a nose ring?

May 17, 2016

Apparently the CBS show, "Undercover Boss," has hit pay-dirt with the restaurant industry. For the second Sunday in a row, the show will feature a restaurant chain CEO. Last week, it was Golden Krust CEO Lowell Hawthorne. This coming Sunday, Wienerschnitzel CEO Cindy Galardi Culpepper appears on the show's 100th episode.

"Having the opportunity to interact with Wienerschnitzel crew members on such an intimate level was a truly humbling and life-changing experience," Culpepper said in a company press release. "From mopping floors to assembling our famous chili cheese dogs, I worked alongside dedicated employees and learned their personal stories firsthand."

As "Louise," Culpepper Culpepper wore a nose ring and wore a brown wig with purple highlights over her blonde hair. She filled various roles at Wienerschnitzel locations in Arizona, Utah and Texas. She even went incognito as an employee at vendor partner, Kent Quality Foods, which makes Wienerschnitzel's hot dogs, in Michigan.

"Through this experience, I've gained an unvarnished view of the inner workings of our restaurants and the individuals who are the backbone of the organization," Culpepper said. "I've met people who I am beyond proud to have representing Wienerschnitzel, and it was a true joy to create new opportunities for those who do so much for our brand."

Moving forward, the press release said that the restaurant will strengthen the brand's purpose as a service company by giving back to employees and the communities its restaurants serve. It willl also put a greater emphasis on operational processes for night shifts and invest in better technology across the system.
