Arby’s cooperative inks long-term shipment agreement

November 30, 2010

ARCOP Inc., a supply chain cooperative for Arby’s Restaurants, has entered into a long-term service agreement with Transplace to provide third-party transportation management logistics services.

Transplace will manage shipments for ARCOP throughout the United States while providing expertise in cooperative business, on-demand supply chain visibility and transparency for operations decisions.

Transplace’s Transportation Management System will provide shipment lifecycle reports, reduce transportation costs and improve operational efficiencies. Its Web-based portal allows Transplace customers to produce standard and custom reports on-demand or on a scheduled basis, a tool that has been important in the quick-service restaurant industry.

Transplace has been recognized as one of the elite third-party logistics companies by a consumer base that includes many of the largest shippers in the world.

“We set out to find the best partner and found in Transplace, excellent technology tools and proven processes that allow ARCOP to better manage business and identify opportunities to ultimately drive the best landed costs to our restaurants,” said ARCOP president David Cox.
