Arizona Carl's Jr. to fuel fleet with cooking oil

March 21, 2007

PHOENIX — MJKL Enterprises LLC, the largest franchiser of Carl's Jr. locations in Arizona, has announced plans to convert all of its corporate fleet vehicles to operate on fuel derived from waste vegetable oil collected at the company's restaurants. The conversion is expected to be complete by early 2010, according to a news release.

The company already has converted 20 percent of its vehicles to run on a WVO-based fuel, and plans to convert its remaining vehicles within the next 36 months. Converted vehicles include Jeep, Dodge and Ford models that operate on a mixture of diesel and waste vegetable oil that has undergone filtration and treatment using a proprietary process owned by MJKL.
