Barfresh expands smoothie operations to 24 Shakey's restaurants

Barfresh Food Group Inc. has signed a two-year supply agreement with Shakey's USA to provide Barfresh's line of Smoo smoothies in 24 of Shakey's restaurants in Southern California

Barfresh Food Group Inc. has signed a two-year supply agreement with Shakey's USA to provide Barfresh's line of Smoo smoothies in 24 of Shakey's restaurants in Southern California, according to an announcement.

"This exclusive agreement builds on the relationship we established with Shakey's last fall, and reflects the healthy demand for our ready-to-blend beverages," said Riccardo Delle Coste, president and CEO of Barfresh, in the announcement. "Shakey's has been enjoying the benefits of our innovative approach for making smoothies, and how it offers a tremendous value proposition for any quick service or casual restaurant owner. We look forward to continued success with Shakey's and expanding our relationship to more of their 50 locations in Southern California."

The Denver-based manufacturer of frozen beverages for quick-service and casual restaurants delivers pre-packaged portions of ready-to-blend ingredients for Smoo smoothies, including ice. The beverages are designed to provide cost efficiency and require minimal equipment and space to produce, the company said.

"We partnered with Barfresh last fall to upgrade our beverage selection with freshly made smoothies that create a premium beverage add-on, as well as a stand-alone snack or dessert. Barfresh's frozen beverages couple good margins with ease of use and efficient supply management.
