Baskin-Robbins selects ParTech for POS systems

April 5, 2011

ParTech Inc. (PAR) has been selected by Baskin-Robbins as the exclusive provider of point-of-sale systems to the company's U.S. standalone franchise network.

PAR's POS solutions, part of the New Hartford, N.Y.-based company's Boundless Hospitality initiative, will simplify the ice cream chain's new product rollouts, improve its ability to control and update menus and enable digital marketing.

"PAR's technology solution will give Baskin-Robbins and our franchisees the necessary tools and flexibility to better deliver exceptional experience to our guests," said Daniel Sheehan, chief information officer for Dunkin' Brands, parent company of Baskin-Robbins. "With its ease of use, efficiency and consistency, the PAR system delivers top-notch performance and provides capabilities that will help streamline a variety of day-to-day operational tasks for our franchisees."

The PAR systems selected for Baskin-Robbins' franchise stores feature PAR EverServ, PixelPoint POS software and a choice of PAR EverServ 2000, ideal for smaller spaces, or PAR EverServ 6000 POS hardware, which is designed to achieve a low total cost of ownership and is energy efficient. EverServ PixelPoint software is designed to enhance restaurant performance through capabilities ranging from menu-screen customization to perpetual inventory management and detailed reporting.

PAR is also providing Baskin-Robbins franchisees comprehensive support through its PAR EverServ Services offering. PAR will provide integrated product delivery services designed to provide a single point of contact to facilitate hardware, software and service delivery. After implementation, PAR will provide franchisees onsite service and help desk assistance across the Baskin-Robbins USA standalone store locations. Also included in the PAR support package are professional services, hosting services and maintenance.

Baskin-Robbins schedules 31-cent scoop night for fallen firefighters

Baskin-Robbins also introduced its April Flavor of the Month, Firehouse #31, and will hold its fifth annual 31-Cent Scoop Night April 27 to raise funds for the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

As part of the 31-Cent Scoop Night, the Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation will donate $100,000 to the NFFF, which extends support for those in the firefighting community. On April 27, all 2.5-ounce ice cream scoops will be sold for 31 cents.

For the first time this year, Baskin-Robbins is also providing consumers the opportunity to help support the NFFF if they choose. Consumers can text 6333 (NFFF) to 50555 to make a $5 donation. Baskin-Robbins consumers who make a text donation will receive a thank you message and a request to opt in to future text correspondence.

The Firehouse #31 flavor is vanilla-based with hot cinnamon, red hot candy pieces and a crunchy atomic fireball ribbon.
