Baton Rouge High School wins big in Hobart, Traulsen sweepstakes

December 17, 2019

Central High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana may soon be churning out the restaurant industry's next culinary superstars thanks to the school's win in a kitchen equipment drawing from food equipment companies, Traulsen and Hobart. A news release said Central High won an assortment of refrigeration, food prep and washing equipment from the companies as winner of the fourth and final drawing this year for the products.

Commercial refrigeration company, Traulsen, and foodservice equipment manufacturer, Hobart, presented the prize package to the schools last Friday in the Save Your Kitchen sweepstakes for K-12 child nutrition professionals.

The high school received a Traulsen One-Section Reach-In Freezer and limited edition red Hobart Legacy 20-quart HL 200 Mixer. Previous winners this year include:

  • Harlem School District in Machesney Park, Illinois.
  • Taylor County School District in Butler, Georgia.
  • Foley Public Schools in Foley, Minnesota.

"I am overwhelmed with the win and excited to see how it will help my school," Central High School Child Nutrition Specialist Janan Noland, said in the release. "Truthfully, when they called I thought that they were playing a joke on me."
