Forty employees at the Slough, United Kingdom, headquarters of Burger King U.K. have been given the pink slip by new owner 3G Capital.
A company spokesperson told Marketing Magazine that the cuts, including a reduction of 10 employees to four in the marketing division, will allow Burger King to “better align with its business goals and position the company for long-term success.”
Earlier this month, Burger King named John Schaufelberger as its vice president of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
In December, Burger King laid off hundreds of employees from its Miami-based headquarters. The move came after 3G Capital purchased the quick-service giant in September.
