Bojangles redesign wraps history in modern package

May 25, 2017

Bojangles is opening a new restaurant concept June 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina, a news release said. The West Trade Street location opens on Thursday, June 1, in the city.

Located at 1401 W. Trade St., the store is steeped in the brand's 40-year history, while also showing customers how the chain will advance into the future.

Bojangles' representatives and community and business leaders "cut the ribbon" on the new location the morning of June 1 and will also test its first flavored iced tea — peach legendary sweet tea. The brand is testing the tea at 36 locations in four states.

The new store design uses a contemporary exterior with brick and tile, as well as steel canopies, while graphics inside salute the brand's heritage. A "Biscuit Theater" also is situated in the new design, where customers can watch those buttery bread products being made every 20 minutes. Glass and colored crocks, instead of steel warming trays increase the feel of warmth and hospitality.

Free Wi-Fi, device charging stations, high-top community tables and Adirondack chairs join with new team uniforms to update the brand inside and out. Plans are underway to remodel three other existing Bojangles' restaurants on Billy Graham Parkway, South Tryon Street and Steele Creek Road in Charlotte.
