Brusters names franchising chief, continues expansion

June 22, 2018

Bruster's Real Ice Cream has named Kim Ellis as its vice president of franchise development, a news release said.

She most recently held the same title at Snip-its Haircuts for Kids and was a senior consultant for Michael Seid & Associates Worldwide, as well as Process Peak's vice president of corporate development and Hot Dish Advertising 's vice president of online strategy.

"We have some aggressive growth goals ahead, but with all the positive attributes of this brand I'm confident we will achieve them," Ellis said in the release.

The premium frozen treat chain is focusing growth on the southern and western portions of the U.S. and recently signed a franchise agreement for its first Las Vegas shop. In January, Bruster's also opened its first Memphis store after opening its sixth southern California location in Torrance last year.

Most recent openings occurred in Hagerstown, Maryland as well as Dallas, Texas and Stockton, California. The brand said it will open 14 units by the end of the year.
