Build-your-own trend hits ice cream sandwiches ... 'and all's right with the world'

July 21, 2017

There may be few pleasures in life as great as an ice cream sandwich on a hot day. Until now, that is, with the rollout of "build-your-own" ice cream sandwiches at Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip.

In Nestlé's take on the popular BYO trend, guests choose two cookies and an ice cream flavor to sandwich between them, as well as toppings and sauces to "squish" inside their personal creation.

Customers who have trouble making decisions can go with a house special sandwich called the cinnamon pretzel crunch. It includes dulce de leche ice cream inside a pair of cinnamon pretzel crunch cookies.

As an additional bonus, the sweet frozen sammies will be $2 each all day long on Aug. 2, National Ice Cream Sandwich Day.
