Burger King has banned 120 artificial ingredients from its menu. The company began to remove artificial ingredients years ago as a long-term commitment to remove colors, flavors, and preservatives from artificial sources wherever possible, according to a press release.
"We know our guests' expectations are changing, and they want to make choices they can feel good about," Ellie Doty, chief marketing officer, Burger King North America, said in the release. "By banning these 120 ingredients from our food, we're offering guests an easy choice — delicious food made with quality ingredients. We're confident that our ongoing commitment to real food will not only provide guests with the food they're looking for, but also set a standard for the industry overall."
In honor of the move, company has added three Keep It Real Meals, which loyalty rewards program members can purchase for $6 starting Sept. 12. Three celebrities have been tapped to advertise the meals using their real names, including Nelly (Cornell Haynes Jr.), Anitta (Larissa Machado and LILHUDDY (Chase Hudson).
