Burger King India generates 100K Facebook fans before debut

Burger King India is set to open later this month and the brand has already generated more than 1 lakh fans (100,000) on its Facebook page within the first seven days.

"It has been a planned strategic outreach to existing fans of the brand who reside in India. It is apparent that Burger King enjoys resident equity, which we are most thankful for and hope everyone will welcome us with open hearts and mouths," BK India CMO Uma Talreja said in a news release.

Burger King India engaged with its fans through two activities based on the theme #BestOfBurgerKing. Targeted mainly at consumers who have tried Burger King in the past, the brand urged fans to share their best Burger King memory and describe the iconic brand in one word.

"Burger King has carved a special place in the hearts of millions of Indians who have tried our burgers in the past. We wanted them to share their own experiences and introduce our brand to their friends. The result has been extremely encouraging with thousands of customers advocating the Burger King experience before we open our restaurants,” Talreja said.
