Burger King has launched a plant-based offering — Impossible Croissan'wich. A test in select U.S. markets earlier this year proved successful, allowing the go-ahead of the national launch, a news release said.
The sandwich makes Burger King the first national restaurant to offer an Impossible breakfast plant-based patty on a breakfast sandwich, but it's still only a limited-time offer. The sandwich features eggs, American cheese and a seasoned breakfast plant-based patty from Impossible Foods, inside a halved croissant-like sandwich bun.
The brand said it's giving up to 100,000 Impossible Croissan'wich sandwiches through its app, though a minimum $1 purchase is required. Burger King introduced the plant-based Impossible Whopper last year. The LTO croissan'wich is priced at $3.99.
Burger King is owned by Toronto, Canada-based Restaurant Brands International Inc., and includes more than 18,800 locations in more than 100 countries and U.S. territories.
