Burger King Singapore goes contactless

December 22, 2010

Burger King restaurants in Singapore have begun rolling out the Singapore Standard for Contactless ePurse Applications (CEPAS), allowing customers to use contactless ez-link card payments.

The application was first introduced in late 2008.

Thus far, 178 contactless POS terminals in 43 Burger King units have been installed on the island. The CEPAS-compliant cards can store up to $500. They’re also used for entertainment, public transit, retail and more.

Burger King is promoting the launch with a "5x EzRewards Points" campaign, which allows users to earn 500 points for every dollar spent at the chain through Feb. 28. Typically, users earn 100 EzRewards points.

Additionally, Burger King customers who use their ez-link card will receive a 50-cent discount on a Hershey's Sundae Pie.
