Burger King stops airing ad following U.S. Postal Service complaint

May 23, 2011

According to Fox News, the U.S. Postal Service has reached a settlement with Burger King over an ad campaign last year that portrayed a letter carrier becoming distracted from his work by the chain's breakfast items.

In a statement issued by USPS, the agency asked Burger King to stop airing the ad, charging that the chain used its logo and uniform without permission and featured the letter carrier in a negative way.

Burger King did not admit fault, but agreed to revise the commercial to portray the postal worker in a more positive manner, without using the USPS logo.

The chain stopped airing the commercial in March.
