Canada's Mary Brown chain begins Walmart partnership

Canadian chicken QSR, Mary Brown's Chicken & Taters, opened its first Walmart location this month in Sylvan Lake, Alberta. The development marks the chain's first Walmart partnership, but it will soon open locations inside other Walmart stores, including Vernon, British Columbia and Grant Park, Manitoba, according to a company press release.

"This is just the beginning of a partnership that I'm confident will be rewarding for both brands," Mary Brown's President and COO Hadi Chahin said in the release.  

The chain, which recently rebranded, has more than doubled its store count to 140 locations in 10 years. The chain hopes to reach 200 stores by 2020, with expansion underway in Europe and Asia.
