Captain D's has announced its participation in Share Our Strength's Great American Dine Out, a national restaurant event created to help fight childhood hunger. Beginning Sept. 19 and running through Sept. 25, many restaurants will join forces to help raise money for No Kid Hungry, a Share Our Strength's national campaign to end childhood hunger in America by 2015.
Customers are encouraged to visit their local Captain D's during the month of September and if they donate $3, they will receive more than $6 in Captain D's coupons. Last year, Captain D's was one of 4,000 restaurants that raised $800,000 toward the campaign.
"We're proud of our continued participation in the Great American Dine Out and we're thankful for our guests who've helped us rally around this cause each year,” said Sandy Smith, senior vice president of marketing for Captain D's, LLC.
About 17 million children in America or one of four don’t have the proper resources to put food on the table every day. The Great American Dine Out is sponsored by Sysco, Ecolab, American Express, USA Today and the National Restaurant Association.
