Captain D's continues to beef up its new management team, naming Monte Jump as its new executive vice president of marketing.
Jump most recently served in the same role for Buffet's Inc. At Captain D's, he will be responsible for all marketing activity, including advertising, media planning, product development, concept positioning, consumer research, local marketing, public relations and social media.
At Buffet's, Jump directed media plans for 136 DMA's and led TV markets to a 10 percent company increase over non-TV markets. He spearheaded the entire marketing program for the brand helping to identify target markets, core consumers and overall brand positioning.
Prior to Buffets, Jump served as the vice president of marketing for Carrabba's Italian Grill, and held the same position at Golden Corral. He began his career with PepsiCo and since then has spent a total of nearly 15 years in various marketing and brand manager positions.
Jump graduated from the University of Tennessee with a BS in chemical engineering and has also received an MBA from SMU in Dallas.
"Monte holds a tremendous amount of experience in the restaurant field, having held key marketing positions at very well-known brands," said Phil Greifeld, Captain D's CEO. "Monte will be a strong asset to our team, igniting a new creative spark to our historic brand."
Jump's appointment is the latest in a string of new hires by CEO Greifeld, which also includes Janet Duckham, vice president of procurement, Michael Lippert, executive vice president of operations and Peter Gibbons, VP of product development.
