Captain D's promotes veteran employee to director of ops

Captain D's is putting a veteran of the brand, who started at the company at age16, in one of its top operations jobs, a company news release said. Summer Sims has been promoted to director of operations, where she will oversee financial and operational responsibilities for Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and Arkansas, while also playing a role in hiring and developing professionals to work in those brand territories as well. 

Sims has been with the chain for more than 20 years, beginning as a guest specialist, followed by service in every restaurant operations position over the years which has garnered her numerous awards. She also serves as part of Captain D's Area Director Mentor program.

"Summer epitomizes our core value of doing what is right for our guest and our brand every day," said Captain D's President and CEO Phil Greifeld, in the release. "She has worked her way up in the company and has served as an excellent example of leadership and drive to each of the new team members she has nurtured along the way. The positive impact of our people and their potential is integral to the recent success and growth of Captain D's."

Captain D's now has 525 restaurants in 21 states, and the release said it is the top seafood franchise in America ranked by average unit volume.
