Captain D's records weekly sales record

March 29, 2012

During the first quarter of 2012, Captain D's recorded an 8.5 percent same-store sales increase in company restaurants, and a 7.7 percent same-store sales increase in franchised restaurants.

The highlight of this performance was a new weekly sales record set during February for the entire 527-unit system.

"Our same-store sales success is a true example of all people of the D's brand working together to enhance our guest experience. Our customers are showing us their approval with their increased visits," said Phil Greifeld, CEO of Captain D's. "We are very proud of our brand's success. It is very exciting and we have much more success in front of us."

The positive results come after Greifeld put into place a new brand rejuvenation strategy, including new marketing and product development, and put a new leadership team in place.

Greifeld came on board in August 2010 and immediately began making changes.

In 2011, the chain turned in its first systemwide same-store sales increase in eight years. The company has invested in new talent, core products, new restaurant equipment, new facility décor and a re-engineered operating line.

"We have a terrific brand support by a highly talented people that will take D's to new levels of success in the coming year," Greifeld said. "At D's, we do what is best for our guests and our brand. By embracing our core value, the success of the D's brand will continue to grow."
