Carl's Jr. gives $60K to high school graduates

Sixty winning students will receive $1,000 to go to a college or vocational school of their choice thanks to Carl's Jr., according to a press release. The 18th annual Carl N. and Margaret Karcher Founders' Scholarship program can be entered at www.carlsjr.com/scholarship, and winners will be chosen based on future goals, current academic record, community participation and work experience.  

"With the cost of higher education continuously on the rise, scholarship programs like this are invaluable to helping ensure that financial status isn’t a barrier to a promising student’s success," Michael Murphy, president of CKE Restaurants, said in the release. "Giving back to hardworking youth in need is part of the core values of Carl’s Jr."

High school seniors and graduates age 21 and younger living within states in which Carl's Jr. has locations are eligible to apply, according to the release.
