Carl's Jr. this week opened its 300th location within Mexico, where it first began doing business in San Pedro Garza Garcia, Nuevo Leon in 1991. In fact, Mexico was the first international market for Carl's Jr., where the brand now serves more than 6 million customers each month. The restaurant is in Guadalajara, Jalisco, a news release said.

Carl's Jr. restaurants have posted positive sales growth in all but one of the last 11 years in Mexico and plans to add 100 locations there by 2024. Globally, CKE owns or franchises nearly 1,000 Carl's Jr. and Hardee's restaurants in over 40 countries, with plans to double its international presence to 2,000 restaurants in the next five years. Accelerated development is in the works for Australia, China, Canada and Western Europe, Mike Woida, CKE International president, said in the release.

"This milestone moment is only the start, as we plan to bring Carl's Jr. to even more regions in Mexico and across the world in the months and years to come so more people can experience and enjoy the innovative flavors we're known and loved for," he said.

To celebrate the 300th Mexican store, Carl's Jr. Mexico is offering three combos for 300 pesos ($15.12 USD) for a limited time. Options include the Famous Star with Cheese, Western Bacon Cheeseburger and Jalapeño Burger.

CKE has more than 3,900 locations of Carl's Jr. and Hardee's globally and is based in Franklin, Tennessee.
