Carl's Jr. recognized for energy efficiency

April 16, 2007

LOS ANGELES — Restaurant chain Carl's Jr. is one of four companies Southern California Gas Co. will honor for saving money and helping the environment.

Carl's Jr. won recognition for receiving more than $27,000 in rebates from Southern California Gas last year for using energy-efficient food-service equipment.

"We welcome the rebates, but because the energy-efficient equipment uses less energy, we'll save even more in lower energy costs," said Juliann Rogers, energy manager for Carl's Jr.

Southern California Gas will present its Energy-Efficiency Excellence Award to Vertis Communications, the County of Orange and Park's Cleaners Service as well as Carl's Jr. at its second annual Energy-Efficiency Expo on April 17.
