Meal ordering platform, Caviar, has added curbside pickup for those wishing to order ahead, skip the line and quickly retrieve their favorite restaurant offerings, according to a news release.
Caviar provides service to 3,000 restaurants across the U.S., but its new pickup feature initially launches in San Francisco, the East Bay, Los Angeles and Portland, with expansion planned for customers nationwide.
Diners pay no additional fees for the service, which is available online and at the platform's website and app. The service is provided by Square, which recently acquired the pickup business of OrderAhead, a service that allows customers to order takeout from their phones.
"We've been using Caviar pickup in beta for the last several weeks and it's definitely revealed an opportunity for sizable new volume in terms of mobile orders," said Bay Area food truck Senor Sisig President Senor Sisig in a news release.
"We understand how valuable our customers' time is, and we recognize that our often long lines can be intimidating for new customers wanting to try our food. We see the incredible potential that Caviar pickup presents and we're thrilled to offer our customers more options to experience Señor Sisig on the go."
