Cheba Hut plans marijuana-themed party for 420

April 19, 2013

Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs is planning a 420 celebration in Boulder, Colo., on April 20.

This is the marijuana-themed franchise's 15th consecutive year celebrating a day known throughout cannabis culture.

On April 20, Cheba Hut will offer customers a 420 special featuring a four-inch sub, chips and a drink for $4.20. Additionally, all meals will be served on collectible 2013 Cheba Hut Frisbees.

The inaugural "Sticky Icky" eating contest will take place at 3 p.m. Participants will have a chance to eat a foot-long "Sticky Icky" (the name of Cheba Hut's peanut butter and jelly sandwich) as quickly as possible for a chance to win free Cheba Hut for a year. All-day festivities will also feature live music from local bands.

"We look forward to this day every year," said Seth Larsen, local franchisee. "No one celebrates 420 quite like Boulder, and Cheba Hut is proud to be a part of it."

Celebrations will take place at all 16 Cheba Hut locations around the country. The franchise estimates that 20,000 people will come through its doors on April 20 alone.
