Chick-Fil-A allegedly told Breastfeeding mom to 'cover or leave'

January 16, 2018

Cover or leave: That's what a Chick-Fil-A franchisee allegedly told a North Dakota woman as she breastfed her child in a Fargo location of the chain. Macy Hornung told Michigan-based TV news station, WNEM that when the owner approached her she remembers telling herself, "You're doing nothing wrong. She can't do this to you."

The franchise owner — identified as Kimberly Flamm — allegedly told Hornung that if she failed to cover her breasts she would have to leave, even though North Dakota law permits the practice in public.

Hornung told Flamm that she was baring her breast because her daughter wouldn't tolerate being covered while breastfeeding.

"She will scream, she will fight, she will rip the blanket off. She will do anything she can to not be covered," she said.

Chick-fil-A did not respond to a request for additional details or comment.
