On Monday, March 18, Chick-fil-A goes from St. Patrick's Day green to frosty spring-inspired citrus with the introduction of its Frosted Key Lime offering with vanilla IceDream, lemondade and lime flavoring that uses key, kaffir and Persian limes for the punch, a news release said.
The chicken chain tested the beverage in Austin, Texas, restaurants this past fall, and the positive feedback prompted leadership to take the offering nationwide. The brand said that it's lighter than a milkshake (with options for sugar-free lemonade and lime flavoring available) and also packs in superfoods such as spirulina and turmeric.
"Since launching Frosted Lemonade in 2015, customers have shared their excitement about our frosted options, like our Frosted Coffee and Frosted Sunrise, so we are delighted to launch another seasonal, frosted treat this spring," Chick-fil-A Menu and Packaging Team Menu Lead Leslie Neslage, said in the release. "Frosted Key Lime is both tart and sweet and will be a delicious, lower calorie treat that all customers can enjoy throughout the day."
Small versions of the items start at $3.25, and the small diet version clocks in at 280 calories. It's available through May 25 or as long as supplies last at the brand's 2,400-plus locations in 47 states.
