Chick-fil-A opens 1st elevated drive-thru restaurant

Chick-fil-A has opened its first elevated drive-thru restaurant, a new concept designed to streamline service and speed up delivery times. Located south of Atlanta, Chick-fil-A Jodeco Road opens today, according to a press release.
The restaurant features four drive-thru lanes and an elevated kitchen with a unique meal transport system. This innovative design allows for meals to be delivered to Team Members on the ground below every six seconds.
"Our guests lead busy lives, and we're focused on designing our restaurants to best serve their needs" Jonathan Reed, Executive director of design for Chick-fil-A Inc., said in the press release. "With the new Elevated Drive-Thru design, featuring our first four lane drive-thru, we're aiming to deliver quality food and genuine hospitality in a way that's uniquely Chick-fil-A, and gives our Guests time back in their day."
The restaurant will provide two options for guests to get their meal: ordering ahead through the Chick-fil-A App and picking up using the dedicated Mobile Thru lanes, or placing their order with a Team Member in the traditional drive-thru lanes. Guests can expect a Team Member to deliver the meal with a smile before they head on their way.
The restaurant is owned and operated by Brett Lewis, who owns a Chick-fil-A in Dalton, Georgia.
"I've been fortunate to work with Chick-fil-A for a long time. I am excited to move back to Stockbridge and honored to open this new concept, which happens to be four miles away from my childhood home," Lewis said in the press release. "As a local business owner, I look forward to learning how to best serve the community I grew up in and working alongside my Team Members as we create a one-of-a-kind drive-thru experience for our Guests."
The restaurant employs approximately 150 full- and part-time employees.
Chick-fil-A recently announced Susannah Frost as its new president. Cliff Robinson was named COO as well.
Chick-fil-A has more than 3,000 restaurants across the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico.
