Chick-fil-A may well earn itself some free media with a promotion it's staging on July 12 — particularly if that proves to be one of those slow summer news days. That's the day the chain is prompting its customers to come in dressed as the brand's famous chicken-loving cows in order to get free food from the restaurant as part of its cow-campaign anniversary celebration.
Chick-fil-A is celebrating the 21st anniversary of its award-winning Eat Mor Chikin’ ad campaign by offering cow-clad customers a free entrée of their choice at its locations through 7 p.m. that Tuesday.
The cow-based campaign started in 1995 and has been a major marketing success story for the brand, which continues to center its promotions around the lovable bovines. The chain is incorporating social media into the run-up to Cow Appreciation Day by urging customers to share costume ideas on Chick-fil-A’s Facebook page. All locations of the restaurant will also have an active Cow Appreciation Day Snapchat filter where guests can share their cow-loving sentiments with their pals.
