Church's Chicken debuts food truck with tour, social media campaign

December 8, 2014

Church's Chicken has debuted its new, state-of-the-art food truck, which embarks on a tour throughout the South starting today from Atlanta.

The food truck will arrive in Montgomery, Alabama today and then continue on to Mobile on Dec. 9, New Orleans on Dec. 9 and 10, Houston on Dec. 11 and San Antonio on Dec. 12 and 13. The truck will depart for the Rio Grande Valley in Texas on Dec. 14, where it will remain into 2015.

In each city, the food truck will visit Church's Chicken restaurants and local landmarks where team members will pass out merchandise and coupons. Fans who post about a food truck sighting and tag #KeeponCluckin will have the opportunity to win $20 gift cards.

Also, guests are invited to help name the brand's truck for the chance to win $1,000. In select locations, the food truck will provide samples of Church's signature menu items including bone-in chicken, honey-butter biscuits and new Oreo Biscuit Bites. Churchie, the brand's mascot, will also be on hand to greet guests.

The food truck will also make stops at nonprofit youth organizations and fire stations in select cities and distribute school supplies, T-shirts, hats and additional merchandise. Additionally, the company will present these organizations with a $500 donation.

"We are thrilled to unveil Church's first-ever food truck this holiday season," said Mark Snyder, EVP, Global Chief Marketing Officer, in a news release. "We invite chicken lovers from Georgia to Texas to share in our celebration by visiting the food truck as it journeys cross-country."

The food truck includes Church's logo, as well as food imagery. It weighs 17,000 pounds and is 13 feet, 4 inches tall and 27 feet long. It is equipped with three full-size Frymaster Fryers and a 42-inch digital menu board.
