Church's Chicken® Raises New Restaurant in Nine Hours with State-of-the-Art ''Pre-Fab'' Technology; Company Officials Unveil ''The Future of Church's Chicke® Development''
October 16, 2005
"This new approach to construction will make the prospect of owning and operating a Church's franchise location that much more attractive," said Doug Pendergast, Chief Franchising Officer, Church's™. "Today's 'unit raising' is just a preview of the future of restaurant development for our system."
The pre-fab technology is made possible through a new partnership between Church's and Fullerton Building Systems, a company that specializes in panelized-development solutions that feature off-site, pre-fabricated construction of entire structures.
"The process integrates the work of at least seven contractors into one complete package," said David Fabian, Senior Director of Development, Church's™. "This potentially provides increased investment returns, instant marketability, higher building quality and reduced project scope for our franchisees. Simply put, this approach makes building a new Church's faster, easier, and more profitable."
The pre-fab process essentially takes up to 30 days off of the construction process currently being used for Church's™ restaurant development. The exterior is made-to-specification and ready in one day, complete with signage. Church's will be the first Fullerton customer that will have its buildings assembled with all of the signage already installed.
Church's executives, franchisees, vendors and other development professionals toured the new facility located at the former site of an aged Church's Chicken® restaurant, 510 West Oltorf.
This new development initiative is only one of several central to Church's growth strategy focusing on speed, efficiency, and return on investment, facilitating rapid franchise growth into markets across the country and around the world.
