El Pollo Loco has named former Church's and Texas Chicken CMO Hector A. Muñoz as the Mexican chicken-centered brand's chief marketing officer, beginning Dec. 3, a news release said. The appointment comes just after the brand named its first Chief People Officer Jennifer Jaffe as part of a pledge to strengthen the company's leadership team.
Before his experience with Church's and Texas Chicken, Munoz was U.S. CMO for Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Inc., as well as previous marketing positions with Burger King, Long John Silver's, Bruegger's Bagels and Bozell Worldwide.
Muñoz will oversee El Pollo Loco's marketing and brand strategy functions, including menu and new product development, advertising and public relations, digital and social media and consumer engagement. El Pollo Loco now has more than 480 restaurants in Arizona, California, Nevada, Texas, Utah and Louisiana.
