A Delaware jury has ruled that Kentucky Fried Chicken must pay more than $1.5 million to Autumn Lampkins, a former employee who said she was demoted for pumping her breast milk during work time, according to a report by the New York Post.
Documents detail that KFC supervisors only allowed Lampkins to pump once during each 10-hour training shift in 2014, and co-workers often complained about these breaks. Lampkins said her milk supply would dry up due to these difficulties.
The court awarded Lampkins $25,000 in compensatory damages and $1.5 million in punitive damages, according to the report.
