This week, Culver's awarded nearly $300,000 in scholarships to further the education of 249 team members nationwide through the company's Very Important Partners (VIP) program.
Culver's VIP Foundation, Inc. is a tax exempt not-for-profit entity developed in 2002 to assist young team members in achieving their goal of earning a college or technical school degree. The 249 recipients is the largest number ever to benefit from the program since Culver's began funding scholarships in 1993.
Primary financial support of the program comes from the contributions of Culver's supplier partners. Other funding comes from franchisee support, funding from Culver Franchising System Inc. and special events. Team members submit applications for funding and judging teams are made up of supply partners and educators.
