The Dairy Queen system is celebrating 30 years of partnering with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, during which time restaurants have raised more than $100 million for local hospitals. This year will mark the ninth annual Miracle Treat Day on Aug. 14 at participating Dairy Queen locations throughout North America.
On that day, $1 or more from every Blizzard sold will be donated to CMN hospitals. In addition, for every person who RSVPs via Facebook to Miracle Treat Day, American Dairy Queen Corporation will donate an additional $1 to CMN Hospitals, up to $50,000.
"This is a big year for us as we top $100 million in donations to CMN Hospitals. We couldn't be prouder of our franchisees that have supported this great cause over the last 30 years," DQ CEO John Gainor said in a news release. "Miracle Treat Day is really the culmination of a year filled with local activities and initiatives that raise awareness and funds for hospitals in our local communities."
Miss America 2014 Nina Davuluri, a national goodwill ambassador for CMN Hospitals, will serve as this year's honorary spokesperson for DQ Miracle Treat Day.
