iTradeNetwork Inc. announced that Unified Supply Chain Inc., the supply chain subsidiary of International Dairy Queen, has agreed to adopt GS1 GDSN data standards and utilize iTradeNetwork's Certified GDSN Data Pool to share product information across its U.S. supply chain.
GS1 is an international nonprofit association dedicated to the design and implementation of global supply chain standards and solutions. One of GS1's important standards efforts is the Global Data Synchronization Network, which provides a standardized way for organizations to share data with suppliers. It is increasingly being adopted across the food and beverage industry because it helps to drive down supply chain costs by improving order accuracy, reducing invoice errors and eliminating duplicate processes while also building consumer and trading partner trust, according to a news release.
iTradeNetwork fully supports GS1 and GDSN standards and actively participates in GS1 Global and U.S. standards maintenance and working groups. In addition to its Certified GDSN Data Pool, the company has closely integrated GDSN into its collaborative supply chain solutions.
"Synchronized data has always been the backbone of iTradeNetwork's collaborative supply chain solutions," Joe Bergera, president of iTradeNetwork, said in the release. "We are fully committed to GS1 standards, including GDSN, and will continue to work closely with IDQ and our other customers across the food and beverage industry to implement these standards in order to improve accuracy and efficiencies across their supply chains."
