Del Taco campaign raises money for troops

Southern California-based Del Taco opened its first location in Texas one year ago. To celebrate its anniversary, the Denton, Texas, location is hosting a campaign to raise funds for Support Our Troops Inc.

From now through Dec. 4, Del Taco's Denton unit will donate a portion of the sales from its new Chipotle Steak menu items to the organization. On Nov. 19, the restaurant also will donate 20 percent of the day's sales to Support Our Troops and will offer discounts to military personnel and their families.

Support Our Troops Inc. distributes funds to organizations such as Patriot Paws, Fisher House, Iraq Star and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.

Del Taco's new Chipotle Steak Big Fat Tacos feature grilled steak, creamy chipotle sauce, lettuce, grated cheddar cheese and tomatoes in a warm flatbread. The new Chipotle Steak burrito features grilled steak, creamy chipotle sauce, lettuce, grated cheddar cheese, seasoned rice and freshly-made pico de gallo sauce in warm flour tortilla.
