Del Taco LTO packs a protein punch

The growing industry trend toward inclusion of higher protein content menu items has swept into Del Taco's stores via its latest LTO, the Epic Triple Meat Burrito, a news release said.

The meat-lover's delight is filled with grilled Carne Asada steak, grilled chicken and bacon with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream in an oversized flour tortilla. The offering is available at more than 560 nationwide locations with a free medium drink through Nov. 4, starting at $5.

"This product delivers more meat than any other large Mexican quick-service restaurant's premium burrito line," CMO Barry Westrum, in the release. "We're proud to take it to the next level by grilling our carne asada and marinated chicken right in our restaurants each and every day."

Other Epic burritos include the Epic burritos featuring everything from chicken and avocado variations to steak and potato concoctions.
