Del Taco talks turkey

Del Taco is urging customers to "gobble" up a little something different this January, with a value-based promotional push on ground turkey Del Tacos. The LTO brings two turkey Del Tacos to all takers for $3 at the brand's 580-plus nationwide stores, a news release said. 

The brand said the turkey they're using for the tacos is super-lean, and serves diners 40% less fat than the amount in the beef Del Taco. The items also includes grated cheddar, lettuce and tomatoes in a crunchy corn shell.

Guests can substitute seasoned ground turkey for any protein as well in existing Del Taco menu items, such as burritos, nachos and fries. For those who are vegan, vegetarian or looking to reduce their meat consumption, Del Taco also offers Beyond Tacos and Burritos, which offer the same amount of protein and flavor as its seasoned beef tacos, but are made with 100 percent plant-based protein.
