Del Taco to open 7 units in south Atlanta

Del Taco has signed deals to open seven locations across south-central Atlanta with Mac Kamara of MK Energy LLC. The company also operates BP, Circle K and Subway, a news release said. 

The growth comes after the brand experienced its fifth straight year of same-store sales growth and opened locations in six states, including California, New Mexico, Nevada, Georgia, Oklahoma and Michigan.

"Our group's operations are based in the Atlanta market with additional locations in Southern California," Kamara said in the release. "Del Taco, an iconic California brand, truly delivers what consumers today want, and I'm excited to be one of the brand's franchise partners to escalate its growth across the Atlanta area."

Del Taco has more than 560 locations in 14 states, Del Taco featuring Mexican and American fare and including a "buck and under" menu.

"Along with Kamara's group, we're working with other multi-unit operators and our corporate team to continue our expansion across Atlanta and the southeast," Del Taco Director of Franchise Development Laura Tanaka, said in the release.
