Dunkin' Brands continues robust expansion

Dunkin' Brands, the parent company of Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins, has opened its 16,000th location worldwide, re-establishing the brand as one of the fastest growing in the quick service sector.

The milestone location is a new Dunkin' Donuts store located in Tian Li plaza in Shenzhen, China. It is the 20th Dunkin' Donuts unit in mainland China.

"We are thrilled to have reached this important milestone and honored by the passion our guests, franchise partners and employees have for the Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins brands," said Nigel Travis, CEO of Dunkin' Brands. "The opening of our 16,000th location reinforces our continued growth in new and existing communities and our commitment to fulfill the demand for quality coffee, food, and ice cream served in a fun and welcoming environment."

In addition to its expansion in China, Dunkin' Donuts recently opened new locations in Vaila, Spain and Cranston, R.I.  Baskin-Robbins has new stores in Moscow and Shanghai. Japan just opened its 1,000thBaskin-Robbins store in Tokyo, operated by B-R 31 Ice Cream Company.

To date, Dunkin' Brands has 16,000 stores in 49 countries and is expecting to open more than 900 new Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins globally by the end of 2010.
