Dunkin' Donuts expands value menu to 3 more markets

April 5, 2010

Dunkin' Donuts has expanded its value menu offering to three Indiana markets: Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and South Bend, a total of 22 locations. Late last year, the company began a value menu test in Chicago and Detroit, two markets with extraordinarily high unemployment.

The latest value menu expansion is a response to continued tightened consumer spending and high unemployment rates, the company said in a news release. The announcement came on Monday as sandwich chain Subway released its breakfast menu, which features five breakfast sandwiches with egg or egg white options. Dunkin' Donuts introduced the first quick-serve egg white sandwich in July 2008 and made the egg white offering an option on all breakfast sandwiches in January.

Burger King recently added a sandwich to its breakfast value menu, a Sausage McMuffin copycat aimed at taking on breakfast leader McDonald's.

Dunkin' Donuts' value menu features six items priced at 99 cents, including:
  • Sausage Egg & Cheese Wrap
  • Bacon Egg & Cheese Wrap
  • Egg & Cheese Wrap
  • Coffee Roll
  • 9-piece Hash Browns
  • Five Munchkins
Each of the breakfast wraps as well as all breakfast sandwiches at Dunkin' Donuts can be made with egg whites.

The launch of the value menu provides affordable choices to fit customers' value-conscious, on-the-go lifestyles, the company announced.

"Today, our customers are looking for new choices to keep them going without compromising on price, convenience, or taste," said Dunkin' Donuts field marketing manager Vicky DeSalvo.

Dunkin' Donuts has more than 6,500 restaurants in 35 United States and the District of Columbia and more than 2,600 international restaurants in 29 countries.
