Dunkin' Brands has named one of its own veteran leaders to the position of senior vice president for Baskin-Robbins U.S. and Canada. Additionally, the company has appointed a former Wendy's and Arby's CEO to its board.
Jason Maceda was promoted this week to the head of the company's U.S. ice cream brand, a news release said. Maceda is a 19-year veteran of Dunkin' Brands, and most recently was vice president of U.S. financial planning and corporate real estate. In the Baskin-Robbins role, he assumes operational and marketing responsibilities for the more than 2,500 North American restaurants.
"He has a strategic financial mind but has never confined himself to a traditional financial role in the corporate office," Dunkin' Brands Chairman and CEO Nigel Travis said in the release. "He has also served as business partner to our operations teams, both Baskin-Robbins and Dunkin' Donuts, and has been actively engaged in the field and the day-to-day business of the restaurants. Most importantly, Jason has been a strong advocate for the constant improvement of franchisee unit economics and through the years has earned the respect of employees and franchisees alike."
Dunkin' Brands Group also announced this week that former Wendy's, Arby's and Office Depot CEO Roland C. Smith is joining its board of directors. According to a news release, Smith began his career at Proctor & Gamble, but has held leadership roles at numerous companies over the years involved in grocery operation, foodservice and office supplies.
"Roland is a veteran public company CEO with experience in a broad range of industries," Travis said in the release. "His track record of delivering strong business results, including growing revenue and increasing operating profit, as well as his more than 30 years spent heading up complex global companies, will greatly benefit Dunkin' Brands as we work to position both our brands for success."
